PCS PetWalk 2009
Animal lovers, families, friends, co-workers and many canine companions had a great time participating in the 11th Annual PCS PetWalk held Sunday, September 20th at the Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole. It was a beautiful day for a walk along the trails to raise money to support the Purr-fect Cat Shelter. After the walk everyone enjoyed the booths, refreshments, listening to fabulous live music and joining in the fun activities. Thank you to everyone who raised money so we may continue to provide care and shelter to cats and kittens in need. Special thanks to our top two fundraisers, Liz Lofgren and Christine Schneider. Congratulations and warm fuzzy hugs from the kitties for all your efforts! This year's PetWalk was another success raising over $9400!
The agility/obstacle course at the PCS Canine Capers area was busy with dogs, along with their owners, trying out the jumps, walkways, tunnels and more. This year an amazing variety of dogs participated in the Purr-fect Pooch Contest showing off their wiggliest tail, loudest bark, best biscuit catch, best trick and best dog owner look-alike. The array of booths on the main field gave people the chance to talk with local rescue groups, find local services, interesting pet items, and let their canine friend try out some tasty treats at the Especially For Pets "Taste of Walpole Dog Buffet". There was something for everyone - even the kids had their own area for fun and games. Thanks to Ruth Debrot and Fred Lungo, "Double Trouble ", for their great music that got people singin' and movin' around the field. Thank you to all our sponsors, supporters, donors, walkers and volunteers for making PetWalk 2009 a fun and successful event.
